County Players doing their bit!!
You would think that the off season would be a time to put their feet up and relax but this is far from the case for Yorkshire's players.
Not only are the county players currently training hard through the YCB Pathways program, but some of them have also been out and about doing their bit to promote the women’s game across Yorkshire.
Over in Hull, senior county players Wendy Brown and Rochelle Petty joined the members of the East Riding Cricket Society, for an evening of discussion and debate, and to present players and officials of East Yorkshire Women & Girls Cricket Development Group with a National Lottery Awards for All cheque for £10,000.
The award is to be used by the Development Group for the purchase of cricket equipment, camera, laptop computer, computer software, transport, facility hire, coaching course fees, coaching fees and umpire fees.

Peter Todd who is Vice Chair of the Development group said:
“This is marvelous news. This grant can now be used towards the continuing development of Women’s cricket in this area. A grant of this size can and will really make a difference to what we are trying to do. We are most grateful that ‘Awards for All’ has had faith in us.”
The presentation followed a night of questions aimed Wendy and Rochelle about how they got into cricket, who they look up to, barriers they face and how they manage to balance playing at a high level with their studies. Both players are currently studying hard at Leeds Metropolitan University.
Hannah and Laura who play for the East Yorkshire District joined in the photo session and had the opportunity to chat to the county stars.
